Kindly hosted by SOCAMA, SIAGI and OSEO
This year, AECM's annual Seminar will be held on 25 September to deal with the impact of the Financial and Economic crisis on SME access to finance. It will highlight the way in which SMEs are affected by the turmoil, e.g. by more restrictive credit conditions, decreasing turnover as well as demand for their products and rising late payments.
The Seminar will focus on how access to finance can be maintained despite of the crisis, on the role of guarantee schemes as well as on the added value that specific guarantee products can bring.

PAST EVENTS :
AECM Annual Seminar on SME Internationalization - 16 May 2008, Hilton, Budapest, Hungary
Kindly hosted by AVHGA (Rural Credit Guarantee Foundation)
This year's AECM Annual Seminar was held on the 16 May in Budapest, Hungary and dealt with the issue of SME Internationalization. As globalization is intensifying, SMEs are increasingly coming under competitive pressure, both on their home markets and abroad. While there are many incentives for SMEs to go international, they still face disproportionately high market entry barriers when compared to larger companies, in particular in relation to access to finance.
The presentations made by the different speakers highlighted the support role played by the public institutions and SME organisations when helping SMEs to internationalize as well as the specific guarantee products provided by Guarantee organizations to ensure the necessary financial envelope for these operations.
The Seminar was attended by over 280 representatives from Guarantee institutions in Europe, the middle East and Asia, from European SME Organisations as well as from the European Commission and Hungarian public authorities.
